Find out what we know so far here!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Video sharing platform and social media giant, TikTok is constantly updating and improving itself. A place for taking part in trendy challenges, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/licensing.routenote.com\/blog\/tiktok-marketing-small-businesses\/\">marketing businesses<\/a>, it&#8217;s quickly becoming a front-runner in the social media game. It has also posed as competition in the video content consumption ring. Recently, <a href=\"https:\/\/licensing.routenote.com\/blog\/tiktok-overtakes-youtube-on-average-watch-time-in-uk-us\/\">TikTok overtook YouTube on average watch time in the UK &amp; US<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Generally, other social media platforms such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/\">Instagram<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snapchat.com\/\">Snapchat<\/a> have been playing cat and mouse with TikTok. Not long after a new feature is unveiled, will others follow suit. However, that&#8217;s not to say that TikTok doesn&#8217;t take inspiration from other popular sites. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Repost Button<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Many TikTok users download content to then <a href=\"https:\/\/licensing.routenote.com\/blog\/how-to-post-a-tiktok-video-on-instagram-reels\/\">upload to Instagram Reels<\/a>, rather than creating fresh Reels content. However, a lot of TikTok users post content that is not their own, but simply videos they have enjoyed and wish to share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Up until now, the only way for users to repost TikTok videos has been to download the content and reupload it. Social media consultant, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattNavarra\">Matt Navara<\/a> has spotted that some users may notice a Repost button when trying to share a video on the network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter aligncenter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">TikTok is testing a \u2018Repost\u2019 button <br><br>h\/t <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/adrianokev1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@adrianokev1<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Nwbj07GXsK\">pic.twitter.com\/Nwbj07GXsK<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Matt Navarra (@MattNavarra) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattNavarra\/status\/1472579035641397252?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 19, 2021<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Much like a retweet, this button will allow users to repost TikTok videos much more speedily and impulsively. Whilst this could be great for boosting reach of videos a user has enjoyed, it isn&#8217;t without its flaws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Navara has guessed that reposted videos are only visible to followers, and will not appear on the reposting user&#8217;s profile. People have taken to Twitter to point out that this could be a concern for businesses and brands. Not having a visible record of what has been reposted could be unnerving. Alongside this, it doesn&#8217;t allow for any tracking of stats, which may be useful in terms of paid partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the moment, the repost button is in beta. This means you may not be able to view it on your own profile.
