Got an idea for a snappy video but haven’t quite finished it yet? Here’s how you can edit Reels that you’ve saved as draft!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re a freelancer or content creator looking to strengthen your brand<\/a> on Instagram<\/a>, then creating great Reels<\/a> is the way to do it. Reels is Instagram’s answer to TikTok<\/a>, their major competitor. With short-form video being the content format of the moment, Instagram has been favouring Reels over other types of content for a while. Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri explained the algorithm<\/a> last year, admitting that Reels are one of the top priorities right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of boosting reach and engagement, whether it’s part of a social media marketing strategy<\/a> or you just want to promote new content, Reels will help get more eyes on your profile. But, what should you do if your Reels idea isn’t fully formed yet? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When experimenting with new types of video content, it can be challenging to come up with fully fledged ideas so frequently. Sitting on half-baked concepts for a while can provide thinking time. The good news is, you can always save and edit reels at a later date. Here’s how, according to the Instagram help centre<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Save & Edit Reels<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You can\u00a0record a Reel<\/a>\u00a0and save it to your Instagram account or camera roll before sharing it. Drafts will be saved until you share or delete them. There isn’t a limit to how many drafts you can save. Bear in mind that downloading your Reel won’t save any music you added from the Instagram music library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To save a draft of your reel to your Instagram:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Tap \"next\" on the Reel you’re recording.<\/li>
  2. Tap\u00a0\"next\"\u00a0then tap\u00a0Save as draft\u00a0<\/strong>at the bottom (Android) or tap\u00a0Preview<\/strong>,\u00a0Share to<\/strong>, then tap\u00a0Save as draft<\/strong>\u00a0at the bottom (iPhone).<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    To edit a draft of your Reel from your Instagram:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Tap\u00a0\"profile\"\u00a0or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.<\/li>
    2. Tap\u00a0\"reels\"\u00a0below your profile info.<\/li>
    3. Tap\u00a0Drafts<\/strong>, then select the Reel you want to edit.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      To save a draft of your Reel to your camera roll:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Tap\u00a0\"next\"\u00a0on the Reel you’re recording.<\/li>
      2. Tap\u00a0\"\"\u00a0Save<\/strong>\u00a0in the top left.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        To edit a draft of your Reel from your camera roll:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. Tap \"profile\" or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.<\/li>
        2. Tap \"\" at the top or swipe right from anywhere in feed.<\/li>
        3. Scroll to Reels<\/strong> at the bottom of the screen.<\/li>
        4. Tap \"\" in the bottom left and choose the draft of your video from your camera roll you want to edit.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
