He describes himself as &#8220;new to all of this and still growing&#8221;, although the quality of his music sounds as if he&#8217;s been honing his craft for an extensive amount of time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/licensing.routenote.com\/collection\/yawn-music\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">yawn! label music<\/a> producer first landed on the scene with his eclectic single release <em><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/7r8O0ImsrCK3E5tDC6RZfv?si=jq6gbyv2QPe4_7Pz0L4YgA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rantan. <\/a><\/em>This debut feels more synonymous with artists such as <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/2AmAO3IlqP2zaCoh98msPC?si=FmiGkJ4dSF6RFCbE6ROTUg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Herzeloyde <\/a>or even <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/0cmWgDlu9CwTgxPhf403hb?si=c3aXXGrWQSyFWCB31fu9mg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bonobo<\/a>, and feels a lot less &#8216;lofi&#8217; than this week&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLUP1ExfeloOHxbkJNLmeLfHDtCSpQ8XQO\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RouteNote Licensing Spotlight<\/a>. Nonetheless, the compositional and production quality of Ka&#8217;vierre&#8217;s first ever release is nothing short of inspiring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/529OVK5uJG24S6vG3DyNBS?si=5f703be69a1844cd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lax <\/a><\/em>begins a delicate and calm inducing arpeggio played on guitar harmonics. This is played underneath a stylistically lofi <a href=\"https:\/\/licensing.routenote.com\/collection\/atmospheric-sound-effects\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">field recording soundscape<\/a>. A delightfully &#8216;wonky&#8217; drum loop enters, providing the tranquil soundscape with a pulse that hits the spot in all the right places. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interestingly, Ka&#8217;vierre sets himself apart from other lofi hip hop producers by utilising a musical technique called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drummantra.com\/blog\/what-is-a-polymeter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">polymeter<\/a>. This is where one musical idea in a track plays in, what sounds like, a different time signature over the top of another established time signature. In this example, the aforementioned harmonics part plays in repeats of 7. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This gives the listener the feeling that the song will all be in 7. However, when the drum loop enters, the pulse is clearly defined as an even 4\/4.
