If you work in the world of video editing or cinematography, recent technological advances have been a whirlwind of AI tools for all the jobs you do on a daily basis. We’ve gone from AI being a “fun experiment” to AI being able to rotoscope a subject in seconds, generate realistic B-roll from a text prompt, and even “uncrop” a shot using generative fill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI can be a game-changer for generic stock footage, generating a 5-second clip of a “sunset over a city” or a “moonlit night-time landscape”. For video creators, on the other hand, each shot has intent, purpose, or a goal. Choosing a lens, camera settings, camera movements, and framing are ways a video creator tells their story. AI creates “content”; humans create vision, and as the world gets filled with generic AI “slop”, the demand for human-made video will become a premium luxury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
