Canva announced on 3 November 2026 that Affinity for iPad is available in the App Store. The app brings sketching, vector design, photo editing and page layout together. Canva says the core tools are free for individuals, while Canva AI Studio features require a Canva premium account. See Canva’s announcement. www.canva.com

Affinity for iPad is a design and image-making tool, not a video editor. It may still fit into a creator’s workflow for thumbnails, title cards, channel graphics, product images and promotional artwork.

What is available?

Canva says the app supports Apple Pencil and touch, with core sketch, vector, pixel and layout tools free for individuals. Some AI features require a premium Canva account. A free Canva account is also needed to use the app.

Check the current App Store listing and Affinity documentation for device support and file compatibility before moving an existing workflow.

How it could fit a video project

A creator might sketch a thumbnail, refine the image and prepare a title card before importing the assets into a video editor. For a series, the app could also be used to make a consistent set of episode graphics and social images.

Preview the finished graphics at the size and aspect ratio where they will appear. A design that looks clear on a tablet may be too small or crowded on a phone screen. When the video edit is ready, browse RouteNote Licensing for music and sound effects that fit the project.
