DJI launches RS 5 handheld gimble: Smarter stabilisation for modern creators
DJI just unveiled their brand new handheld gimbal, the RS 5, designed for solo shooters and hybrid creators to obtain professional-level footage with minimal setup. Coming in at 1.46kg the build is compact and supports payloads up to 3kg – supporting most mirrorless cameras and lenses.
Notable upgrades include smarter tracking and faster performance, and an enhanced intelligent tracking module which has a live touchscreen feed that lets you tab to lock onto subjects (people, pets, vehicles) without the need to use a separate phone or monitor. The 5th-gen stabilisation algorithm provides around 50% higher peak torque, delivering much steadier shots during challenging fast, dynamic movements.
Lets talk battery life… You’ll be pleased to know that it’s a big win for all day shoots. The RS 5 has a fast charge time of 1 hour, offering roughly 14 hours runtime on the standard battery which can be extended up to 30 hours with the optional high-capacity battery grip.
There are fine tuning balance knobs on all axes, Z-axis stability indicator and native vertical shooting without the need for extra adaptors, really showing support for content creators.
Its ease of use, smarter tracking and long-lasting power make the RS 5 a compelling tool, as smooth and professional visuals sell your story the best.
