Insta360 launched its Insta360 Mic wireless microphone on 22 October 2026. The company says the product is available globally through its official store, Amazon and authorised retailers. The system adds a customizable E-Ink display and optional internal recording to Insta360’s microphone range. Read the launch announcement.

Recording and backup options

The transmitter can record internally to a microSD card, including 32-bit-float audio when a card is inserted. Without a card, Insta360 says the microphone can still send audio by Bluetooth or through its receiver. That distinction matters when planning a shoot: internal recording can provide a separate copy of audio, but it depends on the correct card, settings and post-production workflow.

A 32-bit-float file can offer more room to adjust digital levels after recording, provided the entire recording chain supports it. It cannot repair every problem at the microphone or guarantee that an unusable take can be restored. Monitor the source, place the mic carefully and make a short test recording before an important interview.

Insta360 says one receiver can connect up to four transmitters, including a mix of Mic and Mic Pro transmitters. Two transmitters can also send to up to four receivers for multi-camera setups. Direct Bluetooth connection is limited to selected Insta360 cameras; check the current compatibility list rather than assuming it will pair with every camera or phone.

Price and buying checks

The launch announcement lists US prices of $249.99 for the two-transmitter kit with receiver, $139.99 for the one-transmitter kit, and $79.99 for an extra transmitter. Prices, bundles and availability can differ by country. The official UK store currently advertises the Mic range in pounds, so compare the exact bundle and included accessories before ordering.

Creators should check connector support, camera compatibility, whether internal recording is needed, card requirements, battery expectations and the return policy. A multi-person podcast may benefit from multiple transmitters; a solo creator may not need that configuration.
